CHIANG RAI – The Department of Agricultural Extension has launched a campaign to return wild orchids to nature in honor of Her Majesty the Queen’s seventh birthday cycle on August 12, 2016.
Deputy Agricultural Extension Department Director General Olarn Phitak presided over the launching of the campaign at the Agricultural Career Support and Development Center in Chiang Rai province to return wild orchids to nature.
Wild orchids have been planted and returned to nature in August every year. This year, the Department of Agricultural Extension is scheduled to return a total of 1,099 wild orchids to nature.
The deputy department chief said that the activity was held as a tribute to Her Majesty the Queen who had intended to preserve varied species of wild orchids in nature on permanent basis.
