BANGKOK – Harrison Greenberg, the son of  Michael and Wendy Greenberg, owners of Manhattan Beach-based Skechers has reportedly died after suffering a tragic and sudden choking accident.

According to a family press release, Harrison had been working in China since January 5th of this year. He was 90 days into completing his four month internship. Harrison and his cousin Colton, who was also working in Asia, decided that they would have some fun and spend six days in Thailand before returning to Vietnam to complete their work assignments.

The family issued the following message:

“Dear friends and loved ones: Many of you know that Harrison had been working in China since January 5th of this year. He was 90 days into completing his four month internship. Harrison and his cousin Colton, who was also working in Asia, decided that they would have some fun and spend six days in Thailand before returning to Vietnam to complete their work assignments.

We are profoundly saddened to announce the passing of our beloved son and brother, Harrison Greenberg, on Monday night, April 6, 2015. Harrison was on vacation and the initial doctor’s report indicates that he suffered a tragic and sudden choking accident that inexplicably took this vibrant and happy young man from us far too soon.

We know you share in our immeasurable grief, and we sincerely appreciate your best wishes and prayers during this terribly difficult time.”
