BANGKOK -Maj. Gen. Sunsern Kaewkumnerda Military Government spokesman has reported that Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha feels that it is still necessary that martial law remain in order to maintain conntrol over the country for 2015.
Maj. Gen. Sunsern Kaewkumnerd said that Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha has already explained to the international community many times that the imposition of martial law is still needed in Thailand, even though some have voiced concerns over its impact on the tourism industry.
Maj. Gen. Sunsern believes that Gen. Prayut’s explanation is sufficient to earn international governments’ understanding.
Concerning the proposal on the amnesty law, Maj. Gen. Sunsern said that a responsible committee is still working on the issue and will later propose to the government and the National Council for Peace and Order to consider. He added that the prime minister will have the final say in this matter. - NNT
