CHIANG RAI – Officials from the Office of Basic Education Commission (OBEC) have organized a caravan of school and sports supplies as well as jackets and blankets to help students effected by cold weather in the Northern Thailand.Deputy Education Ministry General Surachet Chaiwong presided over the release of the caravan earlier today. The trucks will be visiting schools facing severe cold weather in Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Mae Hong son and Tak.
According to the OBEC, more than 1,000 schools with over 300,000 students are suffering from abnormal cold weather.
The caravan campaign was been able to raise a total of 3.3 million baht, which would be given to students to support their education.
