CHIANG RAI – The Department of Tourism (DO), the Thai-Myanmar Cultural and Economic Cooperation Association, and the Tourism entrepreneurs from Myanmar held a caravan tour from Tachileik Myanmar to Thailand.
The caravan consisting of about 50 vehicles traveled from Tachileik Myanmar to Thailand through the Mae Sai-Tachileik crossing border, bringing Tourism entrepreneurs from Myanmar to explore Thailand.Col Saw Nai Oo, the strategic commissioner of Tachileik, and Col Songyos Thongkon, the Deputy Commander of the 2nd Cavalry Regiment Task Force of the Royal Thai Army, and officials from many agencies in Chiang Rai welcomed the caravan in a welcoming ceremony at the border.
In the 2 day rip, the caravan will travel to various places mostly in Chiang Rai, including the Wat Rong Khun temple, the Phayao Lake in Phayao, the Doi Tung Development Project, the Wat Phra That Chom Kitti temple and the Wat Phra That Pha Ngow temple. The caravan will also have a short cruise along the Mekong River before traveling back to Myanmar.
