CHIANG RAI – Omiya Ardija, J-1 Japanese football club, paid a visit to Chiang Rai United Stadium to partake in a football clinic with Chiang Rai United.
This is the first time a top flight Japanese club has ever visited Chiang Rai, the clinic focused on developing Chiang Rai’s young talent also giving the students a cultural contribution as well.
The Two coaches, Mr.Dai Yamamoto and Mr.Toshiyuki Akimoto, from Omiya Ardija worked with Chiang Rai United Academy coaches to give soccer lesson to U-12 male and female students from around the Muang Chiang Rai area.
More than 100 students wore orange T-shirts, which is the team color of Chiang Rai United and Omiya Ardija.
The student enjoyed their experience and learned valuable skills from the Japaneses coaches.
Mr.Toshiyuki Akimoto said “I feel like this soccer clinic in Chiang Rai is just like Omiya, Japan.
We are the same team colors and in a similar football stadium, in the future I would like to see Thai players in Japan”.
Chiang Rai United coaches stated “We would like to say thank you for all who involved in the event, especially Hornbill Group who support the event.
We appreciate that Omiya Ardija help us make this event happen. We hope this corporation between the Japanese club and Chiang Rai club will develop into a long term relationship to help football in northern Thailand.
In the future, Chiang Rai United and Omiya Ardija continue on working together to be a better relationship and try to help build a better football structure in Chiang Rai.
