BANGKOK – Police Marine Divers in Bangkok have found parts of a dismembered human body wrapped in fertilizer bags, and police suspected they are from an elderly Japanese man who went missing since last month.
Body parts in four separate bags were found in Khlong Pra Ong Chao Chaiyanuchit in Bang Phli district of Samut Prakan province east of Bangkok, police said.
The canal search was conducted after the Bangkok Metropolitan Police Bureau interrogated Pornchanok Chaiyapa on Tuesday.
According to acting deputy national police chief Pol Lt Gen Ruangsak Jarit-ek. Pornchanok allegedly confessed she killed 79 Year Old Yoshinori Tetsuo for his money, cutting off his dead and dismembering his body into pieces, dropping them into a canal.
The officer claimed Ms Pornchanoki’s fourth husband, Somchai Kaewbangyang, admitted he was involved in the killing of the 79-year-old man.
The couple were arrested in Ang Thong province on Monday. They were sent by police to a military camp in an unknown location for detention and interrogation.
Ms Pornchanok had reportedly been with 79 Year old Yoshinori Tetsuo before his disappearance.
Forensic experts were called to the scene at the canal late Tuesday night to begin a formal investigation of whether the body parts match the Yoshinori Tetsuo.
